Digital Store Accidentally Leaks GTA 6 Price Tags: $125 USD!
Shocked and Outraged Players Have Already Flown to Tatooine
Players are in a panic, discussing the potential consequences for the industry: digital retailer Loaded accidentally revealed prices for GTA 6, and they turned out to be frighteningly high. According to screenshots from the store's website, the standard edition for Xbox Series X/S is priced at £89.99, which means its price tag in dollars would be $125. If these figures turn out to be real, GTA 6 will become the first AAA game with a $100 price tag for the standard version — considering that most major releases in 2025-2026 cost $70, and even the recent Outer Worlds 2 faced criticism for its $80 price.
Particular confusion was caused by the price difference between platforms: the PC version for the Rockstar Games Launcher is priced at just £60.99 — £29 cheaper than the console version. Usually, PC games are more expensive due to optimization costs, but the opposite logic seems to be at play here. Perhaps it's due to the absence of royalties to Sony and Microsoft, or Rockstar is trying to boost sales on the platform where GTA 5 still breaks online records.
However, the very appearance of a price tag for the PC version hints that these images are either fake or just standard placeholders used for tracking traffic and attracting attention. No official statements have been made so far.
