Dead Island 2 and the survival game StarRupture have surged into the top 10 of the weekly Steam chart.
Dead Island 2 and Survival Game StarRupture Soar into Steam's Weekly Top 10
Hasn't the weekly Steam sales chart been a bit dull lately? The same old faces. Finally, for the week of January 6th to 12th, half the guard has changed.
Of note: Dead Island 2 managed to break into the top ten among paid titles, thanks to its biggest-ever discount. Some new releases and games swept up by the sale wave, like Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur’s Gate III, gave way to fresher projects. Among them is StarRupture — a survival game with base-building on a mysterious planet. Also seeing the light of day were Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, a checkpoint simulator set in the midst of a zombie apocalypse from Brigada Games and Devolver Digital.
Meanwhile, free-to-play titles became more active in the overall list. A whopping seven such titles in the top 10 pushed all other projects away from the leading positions. As a result, among premium games, only ARC Raiders and StarRupture found a place in the top ten, not counting the Steam Deck.
The following projects either updated or set their peak concurrent player counts during the aforementioned period:
- StarRupture — 42,864 players.
- Quarantine Zone: The Last Check — 25,281 players.
- Gamblers Table — 9,309 players.
- Dreadmyst — 8,049 players.
- Pathologic 3 — 3,296 players.
