Creative Director of Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe Clint Hocking Leaves Ubisoft
Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe Creative Director Clint Hocking Leaves Ubisoft
Recently, Ubisoft introduced a new leadership team for Assassin’s Creed.
As discovered by Video Games Chronicle editor-in-chief Andy Robinson, the reshuffling also affected the creators of AC Codename Hexe — the project's creative lead, Clint Hocking, has left the company.
Hocking worked at Ubisoft since 2001 and notably served as creative director on Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Far Cry 2, and Watch Dogs: Legion.
In a comment to VGC, a company representative assured that despite the veteran's departure, Hexe is in good hands.
We sincerely thank Clint for his vision, creative contributions, and dedication over the years and wish him all the best in the next chapter of his career. An experienced team continues to develop Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe. This game will offer something original within the Assassin’s Creed franchise. We look forward to sharing more details in the future.
Ubisoft statement
Hocking's position has been taken over by Jean Guesdon, the head of content for Assassin’s Creed. Guesdon has previously held the role of creative director for AC — in that capacity, he worked on Black Flag and Origins.
Recall that Hexe was announced back in 2022, but Ubisoft has yet to show a single frame of gameplay. According to scarce information, the game will be darker than other "Assassins."
