Counter-Strike 2 Receives Patch with Intel Optimization and Bug Fixes
On the night of February 24, Valve released a new patch for Counter-Strike 2. This time, the shooter's creators avoided major meta changes, focusing all efforts on technical polishing of the game and increasing FPS for owners of certain hardware components.
Key Technical Fixes
The update brought welcome solutions for users with various PC configurations and also fixed inventory functionality:
- Developers eliminated a serious performance issue that was plaguing primarily Windows 10 users with modern Intel processors.
- AMD graphics card owners can finally breathe a sigh of relief — the patch fixed a bug that caused critical visual corruption in the game.
- A pesky bug in the main menu was fixed, which prevented esports players from using the "Delete Item" button in their inventory.
Map Tweaks and Expanded Modding Capabilities
In addition to optimization work, Valve made several targeted adjustments to gameplay and tools:
- Festive balloons on the competitive map Overpass were fixed.
- The developers accommodated custom content creators by expanding the list of console variables that are now officially allowed to be modified using third-party add-ons.
Previously, the creators of Counter-Strike 2 released a fresh update that significantly adjusted the Anubis map and fixed a whole series of annoying errors. The developers quickly responded to community feedback, improving the location's geometry and eliminating critical matchmaking bugs.
The day before, the shooter's authors also rolled out a patch that significantly improved the Molotov cocktail mechanics and made targeted adjustments to the Nuke map. Valve reworked the visual effects and physics of fire grenades, while also closing several vulnerabilities on the popular arena.
