Cosplay, pranks, and meet-and-greets with voice actors: details of Overwatch Day by Nexon
Nexon will run a large-scale event, Overwatch Day, at the BEXCO exhibition center in Busan on August 22–23. It’s the publisher’s first major offline push for the PC launch after Nexon manages the title in Korea instead of Blizzard — a switch that shows up mostly in logistics and local support, not in-game changes (for now).
At the event Blizzard staff are scheduled to speak: Walter Kong, Senior VP of Live Games and Mobile Projects; Ben Bell, Overwatch Executive Producer; and Aaron Keller, Game Director. Expect a mixed program—developer talks sit alongside fan-facing bits—so it won’t be all corporate slides.
Highlights include creator matches, live art/drawing sessions from the art team, a cosplay contest, and meet‑and‑greets with voice actors plus the Korean Overwatch World Cup roster. Organizers say there will be seven interactive zones, with prizes like hero dioramas and oversized mousepads scattered around.
Info: the first 5,000 registrants each day get 10,000 won in Nexon Cash and a commemorative poster — yes, 5k/day, no catches listed. Cosplay contest entries are open until August 7; the final show on August 22 awards a grand prize of 3,000,000 won.
