Control Resonant — An Action-RPG with an "Open Structure," but Not an Open World
- The events of Control Resonant take place seven years after the first game. Federal Bureau of Control Director Jesse Faden has disappeared, and the Hiss have escaped their confinement, turning New York into a "kaleidoscope of psychedelic nightmares."
- Players will take on the role of Dylan Faden — Jesse's brother, who has emerged from a coma. He must save the city, aided by the Aberrant, a being capable of changing form. For example, a weapon can become dual blades, a massive hammer, or take on another form suitable for the situation.
- Previously, Remedy boasted that Control Resonant is set to become the studio's most ambitious game to date. However, this doesn't mean the project will feature an open world. As Kasurinen explained, Resonant is a "game with an open structure," but not an open world. It features fast traversal, surreal locations, as well as psychedelic superpowers and weapons.
I think our traversal system will become one of the game's standout features. Furthermore, we've found what we believe is a unique way to combine dynamic close-quarters combat, continuous forward momentum, and supernatural powers.

- If Control was an adventure-action game, then Resonant is an action-RPG with "more meaningful progression and serious choices," as well as memorable builds that cater to different playstyles.
- The "open structure" of Resonant will be full of secrets, side stories, and more. None of the additions to the main plot will feel like "filler." On the contrary, they are all tightly woven into the Control universe.
The release of Control Resonant is scheduled for 2026 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Russian language is not listed among the supported languages.
