Total Failure: Only 561 People Peaked in Steam for the Horizon Hunters Gathering Test

The cooperative action game Horizon Hunters Gathering, set in the Horizon universe, ran a short closed beta from Feb 27 to Mar 1.

Getting an invite wasn’t exactly exclusive. PS beta program subscribers in EU/NA were included, and Steam users who signed up also got access — so interest could’ve been expected to be higher.

SteamDB reports a peak of just 561 concurrent players on day one, falling to about 273 by the end of Sunday. Ouch. The PS side is probably no better, and the whole thing reads like another stumble for Sony’s live-service push.
