Chris vs. Wesker: Key Scenes in the Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake Will Be Turned Into Boss Fights

Dusk Golem and NateTheHate — two insiders with a track record of leaks — say the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica is actively in development, with a target release in 2027.

They’re pitching this as the most extensive reimagining so far: reportedly all original content will stay, but many moments will be expanded into actual gameplay (i.e., scenes that were once cutscenes may become playable). One big change: Chris vs. Wesker will be a full-fledged fight, not just the short cinematic from the original. After that battle, a wounded Chris hands the initiative to Claire, who then faces Alexia in the finale. If the leaks hold up, this will also mark young Chris’s first outing on the RE Engine.
