Capcom has released a benchmark for the PC version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Capcom has released an official benchmark for the PC version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, so you can check how the game behaves on your machine before deciding to buy. The test is already up for download — handy if you don’t want to be surprised by performance on launch day.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword puts you in a third-person action-adventure built around grisly swordplay. The setting is Edo-era Kyoto, a once-familiar city now twisted beneath choking clouds called Malice. The hero (e.g., Musashi) encounters Genma, nightmarish beings from another realm: powerful, hostile, and unsettling. The tone leans toward dark fantasy, with magic, mystery, and frequent danger; exploration teases out secrets while combat pushes you through tense, often brutal fights to repel the Genma invasion.
Players who ran the benchmark report it matches in-game results reasonably well. The tool is divided into three parts:
- two cutscenes demonstrating the game’s visual quality in scripted sequences
- a gameplay segment where the character Musashi fights numerous enemies
Those clips cover both pre-rendered scenes and on-the-fly combat, which matters for a title that demands quick movement and tight combos.
Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword will arrive on September 4.
