"Borna" will be rebooted, but without Damon

Universal Pictures has regained full control of the Jason Bourne movie rights. Matt Damon returning seems unlikely — Jeff Snyder, an insider, says the actor is tired of the role, i.e., not keen to come back. Studio people are already talking reboot: rethink the story, recast the lead, and possibly shift the franchise’s tone.

There are five Bourne films to date. Many still point to Paul Greengrass’s original three as the high point, though that view isn’t unanimous. The last two installments underperformed at the box office and didn’t win back the audience affection the earlier films once enjoyed — which is a shame for longtime fans.
