Part of the team behind the failed extraction shooter Wildgate laid off

Moonshot Games, the developer of the shooter Wildgate, has conducted layoffs. Representatives from the game's publisher, Dreamhaven, confirmed the information.

Wildgate was released in 2025 but failed to achieve a sustainable development model. Although its debut on the Epic Games Store in early 2026 temporarily increased its audience and received positive reviews, the current online player count proved insufficient to support the previous team size. As a result, a number of employees were let go.

According to Dreamhaven, this decision will allow the studio to continue long-term support for the game. The developers are working on a new update, scheduled for release this quarter, which will add quality-of-life improvements and a progression system.

This marks the second round of layoffs for Dreamhaven in the last five months. Despite this, the company intends to continue supporting all of its projects.
