Blizzard Reveals the Mystery of Venture Cat's Origin in Overwatch

One of the most intriguing mysteries in Overwatch lore has been revealed—the origin of the new support hero, Venture Cat. A week ago, the fluffy pilot appeared in the game, but fans refused to believe the official story that Brigitte simply found a stray cat and attached a jetpack to it.

The community demanded details, and Blizzard responded with a full-fledged lore video. However, there were no shocking revelations. The creators remained unwavering: Venture Cat is indeed just a cat.

But in the video itself, voiced by actress Matilda Smedius, there were elegant nods to the real history of the character's development. In her story, Brigitte mentions finding the cat among rocket parts in the landing bay and recalls "projects that never took off." This is a hint at the designers' long-standing ideas, who had been nurturing the concept of a cat with a rocket pack for years but only now found a way to implement it technically and organically fit it into the game.
