Bet on 8 gb amd also changes strategy due to memory shortage 2

According to the latest insights from Board Channels, AMD (following NVIDIA) is beginning to prioritize the production of graphics cards with 8 GB of video memory. This decision is driven not by a desire to limit gamers, but by the harsh necessity of survival in the "VRAM crisis." Due to the AI boom, the cost of GDDR6 and GDDR7 chips has skyrocketed. Memory manufacturers find it more profitable to ship products for server accelerators than for gaming graphics cards. Under these conditions, producing cards with 16 GB has become economically painful for AMD. To avoid raising prices to exorbitant levels, AMD is focusing on models with less memory. Priority will be given to solutions like the Radeon RX 9060 XT and even the budget RX 7650 GRE (from the previous generation). Suppliers (ASUS, Gigabyte, ASRock, etc.) have already begun a second wave of price increases in the first quarter of 2026. Cards with 16 GB are becoming more expensive by an average of $40–$85, while 8-gigabyte versions are managing to keep price increases within the $20 range.
