Beast of Reincarnation: With Difficulty Levels, But Without Open World and Online Features
Following a major showcase of the action-RPG Beast of Reincarnation from Game Freak and Fictions, its director Kota Furushima spoke with Famitsu and revealed a number of additional details.
Thus, the game, which in mid-2026 will transport PC and console owners to Japan, but exactly two millennia later, will not feature an open world, nor any multiplayer elements. However, players will be able to adjust the difficulty to suit themselves—after all, this isn't a "soulslike."
It's a long journey with many varied locations, so I think it can be viewed as one long, very wide road. Instead of a fully open world, it's more like a road to Kyoto, broken up into level-based "districts." Since the relationship between human and animal is so important, we intentionally did not include any online elements in the project.
We've made it so the game is enjoyable even for those who aren't very good at action games. You can choose your difficulty level, so I recommend selecting a lower level if you're unsure. Personally, I believe that thanks to the skill trees and the support Ku offers, people will be able to find their own approach, which will essentially lower the difficulty.
