The $100 Billion Partnership Between NVIDIA and OpenAI May Not Happen — Huang Doubts

A major $100 billion deal between NVIDIA and OpenAI may not materialize. NVIDIA has yet to approve the agreement, and its CEO Jensen Huang doubts the business discipline of the partner.

Earlier, the company expressed readiness to provide OpenAI with massive computing power. However, the deal was preliminary, and NVIDIA’s documents explicitly stated that it could be canceled.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Huang is concerned that OpenAI is losing momentum against competitors like Anthropic and Google. The GPT ecosystem no longer looks like the undisputed leader.

Additional doubts are raised by rumors about OpenAI preparing for an IPO and a possible introduction of advertising. This could indicate a search for new revenue sources.
