The Adaptation of the Dark Comic "The Last Ronin" About the Last Ninja Turtle Is Still in Progress

Work on the film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" is not canceled, just postponed. This was stated by the comic co-creator Kevin Eastman in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. According to him, Paramount and Nickelodeon studios are aware of fans' love for this dark universe, so the project will definitely happen.

Fans' optimism is fueled by the news that Judith Hoag, who played April O’Neil in the 1990 film, revealed at Comic-Con that Paramount has already contacted her about returning to the role. This could mean that the new movie is intended as a legacy of the classic trilogy.

The film was announced in April 2024. The plot is based on the comic about the future, where the last turtle avenges the death of his brothers.
