The 2D action game Crimson Capes, featuring Dark Souls-style combat, has received a trailer announcing its release date. The pixel art game will launch on February 12th for PC via Steam.
The trailer itself is filled with gameplay footage that reveals the main feature of the upcoming title—fierce sword fights. Despite the 2D perspective and fantasy world, the developers of Crimson Capes promise to showcase realistic techniques for attack and defense. Low blows, sword spins, lunges, and other movements—all of this is part of the combat system.
Moreover, players will be able to choose from many heroes, as well as unlock unique combat styles and skill trees. Melee combat will be complemented by magical abilities. For example, one can harness the wind, command thunder, and even summon flames. And the epic finale of a fight will be executions—enemies can be finished off in various ways, including decapitation.
During the course of Crimson Capes, players will get to visit ancient ruins, magical towers, dark caves, and mystical forests. The locations will hide both common enemies and tough bosses. Furthermore, you can embark on these adventures in co-op with a friend. No one is stopping you from clashing with other players in PvP battles either.
Crimson Capes will be sold for $15. For the first nine days after sales begin, a 10% discount will be available on the game.
