On Saturday, the International Animated Film Society (ASIFA-Hollywood) announced the winners of its 53rd annual Annie Awards. No anime film received awards at the event.
However, the animated film "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" by Koyoharu Gotouge (production by ufotable) won all 10 awards it was nominated for, including the award for "Best Feature Film." The film also received awards for:

- Best Character Animation - Feature
- Best Character Design - Feature
- Best Direction - Feature
- Best Music - Feature
- Best Production Design - Feature
- Best Voice Acting - Feature
- Best Writing - Feature
- Best Editorial - Feature
The film was nominated in all feature film categories except for "Best Storyboarding" and "Best Feature Film - Independent."
Dutch animator and director Michaël Dudok de Wit, who co-directed the Ghibli film "The Red Turtle," was one of the recipients of the Winsor McCay Award. This award "is one of the highest honors given in the animation industry for career contributions to the art of animation."
The Japanese company WACOM received the Ub Iwerks Award for technical achievements that have impacted the animation industry.
The new anime film by Mamoru Hosoda and Studio Chizu, The Endless Scarlet, was nominated for the "Best Feature Film - Independent" award. The film was also nominated for "Best Direction - Feature" and "Best Writing - Feature" awards.
The film "Chainsaw Man: The Movie - Reze Arc" was also nominated for the "Best Direction - Feature" award.
The first Korean animated Netflix film "Lost in the Stars" was nominated for the "Best Feature Film - Independent" award.
The television anime series DAN DA DAN was nominated for the "Best Direction - TV/Media" award for the episode "Clash! Space Kaiju vs. Giant Robot!", but the award went to Common Side Effects.
The stop-motion animated series My Melody & Kuromi was nominated for the "Best TV/Media - Children" award for the episode "All for Our Best Friend," but the series "The Amazing World of Gumball" won.
Hideo Kojima's game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach received a nomination in the "Best Character Animation - Video Game" category, but the award went to South of Midnight.
The animated series based on CAPCOM's Devil May Cry video game received a nomination in the "Best Music - TV/Media" category, but the award went to Win or Lose.
The animated project for Sega's Sonic Racing CrossWorlds game was nominated in the "Best Sponsored Work" category, but the award went to Olipop Yeti.
