What's in Store for Xbox in the Near Future: PC Integration, World of Warcraft in Game Pass, and a Focus on Major Single-Player Games
Microsoft is preparing its next-generation Xbox for launch in late 2027. According to Windows Central, the console will remain a traditional "box under the TV" but will get a full-fledged Windows OS — essentially turning it into a PC with access to Steam and backward compatibility.
Simultaneously, the company is re-evaluating Game Pass: it is considering bundling World of Warcraft, Fallout First, and Minecraft Realms into the Ultimate subscription, although the current $30 price tier is already raising questions about its value.
No major reorganizations are expected in the studio division — the focus on single-player projects like Fable will continue, but new closures are not ruled out. The price of the new console promises to be quite high.
