ARPG Dark December will be closed by the end of May — the pay-to-win Diablo-like failed to attract gamers' attention
The studio Needs Games Inc. has effectively conceded: the prequel Undecember, released in January, will be shut down on May 27, 2026.
The devs were blunt — they can't vouch for long‑term stability or continued development, i.e., there's no reliable roadmap to keep it running. Since April 22 the game was pulled from storefronts; registration and payments are frozen.
Players have roughly a month left (approx. 35 days) to request refunds for donations and to squeeze in their final sessions. That grim tale about the twelve creators of the world didn't reach a grand finale — it ended as a technical defeat barely four months after launch.
I felt a pang reading the notice; some will shrug, some will grieve, and life moves on.
