Announcing MECHBORN — a card-based roguelike about mechs and kaiju.
MECHBORN Announcement — A Card Roguelike About Mechs and Kaiju
Publisher Curve Games and studio Turtle Juice have revealed the deckbuilder-roguelike MECHBORN. According to the companies, what sets the game apart from competitors is that the deck itself is a battle robot.
Earth is under attack by ruthless kaiju. In response, humanity creates elite pilots capable of surviving the brutal "mech-synchronization" procedure. Your charge is one of them.
At the start of a run, seven cards will be available. After playing a card, the next one takes its place. You will need to place support cards to unlock new abilities and combine them with the pilot's skills. New pilots and machine parts that affect the deck composition will be unlocked as you play.
In addition to the card battles themselves, MECHBORN features world exploration. There, you will find laboratories with upgrades for your mech, new factions, rewards, and merchants who sell, remove, and upgrade cards.
MECHBORN will be released in late 2026 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and both Switch models. A "pre-alpha" version of the roguelike can be downloaded on itch.io. Russian language support is not planned.
