Anime sandbox Ananta launches on January 15, 2027
If you happen to not like Grand Theft Auto VI, you can wait two months and jump into another "sandbox" — this time a "free-to-play" one: Ananta from NetEase Games and the developer studio Naked Rain. A fresh trailer turned up at gamescom, and with it came the launch date.
Ananta is an open-world RPG that resembles Earth but with a twist: urban legends bleed into everyday life and the supernatural shares the streets. You play an agent of the Anti-Chaos Administration — charged with keeping ordinary and otherworldly realms from colliding, i.e., maintaining balance while pushing back hostile forces.
Release date: January 15, 2027. Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
