An old acquaintance from Dark and Darker will visit the tavern for the third anniversary celebration
The dungeon crawler Dark and Darker marks three years in early access and, to celebrate, the devs brought the Skeleton back to the tavern. A festive quest kicked off alongside the update, which also bundles new features, balance tweaks, and fixes for dozens of bugs (e.g., UI hiccups and combat edge-cases).
Finish all event tasks to unlock the emotion Triple Chocolate Sparkle Surprise. Until August 9 there’s a login streak reward: Gold Coin Pouch, Bluestone Shard, and a Reward Token. Also dropped into the store: a Magma Wyvern-themed throwing-weapon skin for anyone who wants the look.
One of the bigger additions is the route system: press Alt + right mouse button (Alt + RMB) to link up to six map points and share a finished path with your squad. Pings now linger longer; you can mute markers and messages per teammate. Loot from bosses was reworked, too — priority goes to the player/group that dealt the most damage, not whoever landed the last hit (most-damage vs. last-hit).
Balance changes landed across the roster. Magma Wyvern is more dangerous, the Cleric took several nerfs, Teleport Wizard lost range, while the Bard got a buff to Tranquility. The team is still watching how the Normal and High-Roller tweaks play out and says further adjustments will follow based on in-game results.
