AMD Unveils New Ryzen AI 400 for Desktop PCs with AM5

AMD continues to fuel interest in its upcoming hybrid processors (APUs) for the AM5 platform. A new official render of the chip codenamed Gorgon Point, which will be part of the Ryzen AI 400 series, has appeared online. This time, the focus is on the desktop version of the processor, confirming the imminent release of these "chips" beyond the laptop market.

Gorgon Point is essentially an enhanced version of the already familiar Strix Point mobile processors. The main emphasis here is on artificial intelligence—the integrated neural processing unit (NPU) based on the XDNA 2 architecture delivers an impressive 60 TOPS.

From a technical standpoint, we can expect a time-tested combination: up to 12 cores based on the Zen 5 architecture, powerful integrated RDNA 3.5 graphics, and an updated memory controller.
