AMD GPU Market Hits Price Peak: 40% Surge Followed by Demand Drop

The GPU market, overheated by frenzied demand from the AI sector, is showing the first signs of cooling down. This is particularly evident with AMD: models with large amounts of VRAM, such as the Radeon RX 9060 and 9070, which were recently considered an affordable alternative to the skyrocketing prices of NVIDIA, had increased in price by 40% by December 2025.

However, according to data from the Japanese source Gaz:Log, the peak was followed by a decline: reduced demand forced retailers to drop prices for the RX 9070 XT by 15%, and for the RX 9060 XT 16 GB by a full 20%.

Of course, the Japanese market is not a universal indicator, but it may signal a global turning point. If demand continues to fall, prices in other regions could stabilize or even decrease slightly.

However, it's too early to relax: rumors suggest that both AMD and NVIDIA are preparing to increase recommended prices at the beginning of 2026 by at least 10%, on top of the recent $20–40 price hikes.
