Ambitious cartoon shooter mouse pi for hire has been delayed but only by a month

Studio Fumi Games and publisher PlaySide Studios have officially announced that their main project, the noir action game in the "Steamboat Willie" style, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, will not be released on schedule. Instead of the previously planned date of March 19, 2026, the game will hit physical and digital store shelves a bit later — on April 16, 2026.

The developers explained the delay with a classic reason — the project needs final touches. The team is on the home stretch and wants to spend these extra few weeks polishing the gameplay to a shine and ensuring that the adventures of mouse detective Jack Pepper proceed without technical hiccups.

The creators emphasized that for them, the quality of the game is more important than rushing, and they do not want to disappoint fans with an unpolished product.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire has already amassed over 1.3 million wishlist additions on Steam, making it one of the most anticipated indie projects of the year.
