Amazon has started searching for the new Bond with the eyes of the "Game of Thrones" casting director

Amazon has said auditions are underway for the next James Bond — and they're asking for silence from the press while it unfolds. Variety names Nina Gold as the person running the hunt; she's a long-time casting pro, the force behind the large ensemble of "Game of Thrones." Her credits are broad, e.g., The Illusionist, The Martian and Conclave; on TV she's worked on The Crown, The Acolyte and Lord of the Flies. There's also a more divisive credit in the mix: Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Last year Gold earned an Oscar nomination — a milestone moment, since casting got its first-ever Academy recognition (i.e., a new type of nod).
