Fear the Publisher: Hooded Horse Head Reveals the "Dirty Kitchen" of Indie Publishing

Hooded Horse publishing head Tim Bender stated that most indie developers should not work with indie publishers, calling the latter "predatory and opportunistic." According to him, such companies sign many projects but actively support only already successful games. They abandon the remaining projects, continuing to extract income from them through return on investment.

Bender also noted the low professional competence of many publishers, who offer little to developers. As an alternative, he urged studios to thoroughly study the market and consider the possibility of self-publishing, which has become much more accessible today.
