Albion Online Developers Unveil New Faction Battle Standards Feature

The Albion Online team will release the second part of the Realm Divided update on February 23rd, and Sandbox Interactive has detailed a new objective that will add depth to the game: Faction Battle Standards.

The latest developer blog explains what they are, how they affect the conflict, a bit about strategies, how you benefit from this capture-the-flag-style objective, and, of course, the PvP it's designed to encourage.

Indeed, Battle Standards are meant to add another layer of risk-reward calculation and stoke the competitive spirit a bit, provoking skirmishes in the form of moving conflict points.

These Battle Standards only appear in zones with active conflict. Once unlocked, any player with a faction flag can pick one up, and its journey begins. If you are carrying this standard, you fight against your faction's enemies and capture outposts.

Continue successfully carrying the Battle Standard, and you will accumulate Prestige. If you fight alongside the carrier and assist them, you will also be rewarded. Prestige is earned through actions like those described above and continues to grow as you progress.

Once the standard reaches the Epic level, even if you capture all outposts, you will no longer gain prestige. The only way to raise it to the Legendary level is to defeat players from other factions, as PvP is the only way to continue developing the battle standard.

To complete its journey and claim your rewards, the Battle Standard must be delivered to a friendly Garrison, where Fiona Fableheart awaits. A bard by trade and a collector of legends by nature, Fiona is drawn to items saturated with stories.
