Alabaster dawn developers shared details of a major patch and plans for gamescom 2026

Radical Fish Games just released a new dev report for their action RPG, Alabaster Dawn — a quick status check from the team as they push toward a larger early-access rollout.

Work is focused on the next big update, v0.2.0, which promises to broaden the playable world rather than just tack on a handful of rooms. The headline change: a swamp zone, carved out with its own dungeon. Expect enemies that behave differently from what’s already in the game, puzzles that lean on the terrain, and at least one boss encounter that forces you to rethink how you approach a fight.

Combat for the protagonist, Juno, is getting attention too. The devs are expanding the combo tree for dual kama blades and introducing a spear — new reach, new timings, new opportunities to mess up and learn. For players wanting practice, there’ll be a Dojo area where you can try combos without dying repeatedly (or at least without losing progress).

QoL additions are coming: customizable world-map markers (a long-requested feature) and a dedicated glossary that digs into Tyran Sol lore for anyone who wants more context.

On the events side, the German devs confirmed they’ll be at Gamescom 2026 (Aug. 26–30) with a booth in pavilion 10; the plan is to show a fresh public build and have key creators on hand for questions and feedback. Separately, their crowdfunding for official CrossCode merch wrapped successfully, so fans can expect some retail items tied to that earlier title.

No firm date for v0.2.0 yet — the team says they’ll announce timing in the coming weeks. For now, Alabaster Dawn is playable only on PC (Win & Linux) via Steam.
