The free-to-play hero shooter Highguard is already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series. It has received a "mostly negative" user rating (25% approval). The game is most often criticized for performance and connection issues, as well as maps that are too large for the 3v3 format. Some players criticize the "gunplay" (shooting feel), "soapy" graphics, general "chaos" on screen (including constant camera shake), and the lack of Russian language. Many users have also bombarded Highguard with "mocking" reviews lacking specifics, in which they apologize to Geoff Keighley.
Recall that the game's announcement was the final world premiere of The Game Awards 2025, which unfortunately created a bias. As for peak concurrent players, it reached 97,249 — this was 7 hours ago. At the time of writing, there are 34,949 concurrent players in the shooter.
