Jon Peddie Research's latest numbers are blunt: by Q4 2025 NVIDIA commanded about 94% of the discrete GPU market. Hard to ignore — that’s not just growth, it's market concentration on a scale that makes you squint.

Over the year the "greens" picked up roughly 10 percentage points, largely at the expense of AMD (now down to ~5%). Intel barely registers in this arena — around 1% — which says a lot about how the battleground has shifted, vs. how it looked a few years back.

Shipments of discrete cards dropped by the end of the quarter. Several pressures collided: rising prices, a chronic memory shortage (e.g., DRAM/NAND supply tightness), and new tariffs applied late in 2025 that squeezed manufacturers’ margins. The headwinds didn’t let up as 2026 began.
