The Progenitor of M&M and Its "Heroes" Jon Van Caneghem to Assist in Developing Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era
The strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has been gaining traction even at the demo stage, but Unfrozen and Hooded Horse have managed to elevate the hype to a new level: the developers have received a helping hand from none other than Jon Van Caneghem himself.
The 62-year-old founder of New World Computing and creator of Might and Magic, HoMM, and King's Bounty has returned to the iconic series (for the first time since HoMM IV over two decades ago) and will now serve as a creative consultant. Caneghem has already met with Unfrozen's head, Denis Fedorov. Of course, Ubisoft, as the rights holder, will also have its say.
Hello! I'm Jon Van Caneghem, creator of the original Might and Magic series and founder of New World Computing! I will be collaborating with Unfrozen to consult on game design, world-building, and other creative aspects for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era!
It brings me immense joy to see the world I created many years ago thriving and becoming part of so many people's memories. I am thrilled to contribute once again and embark on this journey alongside all of you who have made Might and Magic a legendary series!
Olden Era is a labor of love and passion from a team that truly knows its craft, and I am incredibly excited to share my experience with them! The demo prepared by Unfrozen was simply delightful and captured the original spirit of the series, and I hope to see you all when Olden Era launches in early access!
