Rumors about the revival of the "greatest JRPG of all time" have been circulating for years, but this time the information comes from a reliable source. Well-known insider John Harker, whose predictions often come true, directly stated during a discussion on the ResetERA forum that a Chrono Trigger remake is already in active development.

At recent events dedicated to the game's 30th anniversary, Yuji Horii (one of the creators of the original) repeatedly evaded direct questions about a remake. Instead of the clear "no" that Square Enix gave in 2025, Horii now only smiles meaningfully and says, "Everything in its own time." In the industry, such answers are often a veiled confirmation.

Also, at the orchestral concert celebrating the game's anniversary, fans noticed unannounced gray figurines of Crono and Marle. Such prototypes rarely appear just for show and often accompany announcements of new versions of characters.

The format of this remake is currently unknown, even to insiders. It could be an HD-2D remake, a full-fledged three-dimensional game, or a cheap "remaster" after an AI-upscale.
