Skyrim for Switch 2 Adds 60 FPS Support
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition arrived on the Nintendo Switch 2 in a regrettable state—the game didn't even hit 60 fps. Recently, Bethesda finally delivered a patch with technical fixes. Below are the key changes.
New Features
- Added 60 Hz support. In the graphics settings, you can now switch between Quality and Performance modes.
- In Quality mode, the frame rate is capped at 30 fps for smoother gameplay.
Crash Fixes and Performance Optimization
- Fixed a crash that occurred when reading the book "Bloody Knives, Vol. 4" for the "Crooked Scale" quest in the German version.
- Fixed a crash related to sound.
- Fixed a crash, infinite loading, and hang that sometimes occurred when rapidly selecting the "Load" option multiple times in the pause menu.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when repeatedly casting the "Transmute Ore" spell near the Clearsprings Camp.
Performance Improvements in Specific Locations
- During the "Hide and Seek" quest in Kyn's Grove.
- During combat in the Second Kiss.
- When discovering the location "Drelas's House".
- During the battle with the giant at the Talking Stone Camp.
Visual Bug Fixes
- When looking at water surfaces from a distance or through the menu, they would shift up and down.
- Removed aspen trees displayed with a blue tint.
- When exiting caves, the outline of the entrance remained visible on the loading screen with a fade effect.
