Modder Wombat has released the Enhanced Animations mod for Fallout: New Vegas, completely overhauling third-person animations — not only for the player but also for NPCs.

According to the author, the mod covers all basic movements:

  • Idle stance
  • Walking
  • Running
  • Jumping and landing

It also adds reworked melee attack animations and minigun firing animations.

Furthermore, long-standing bugs have been fixed — such as distorted fingers, jerky stops, and character "sliding" across the ground, which previously spoiled the third-person camera experience.

Wombat calls this mod the first step in a series of updates aimed at making New Vegas "more lively and cinematic."

To install Enhanced Animations, you will need the kNVSE Animation Plugin and JIP LN NVSE Plugin. After installation, players will be able to see how much smoother character movements now look — especially during jumps and melee attacks.

Currently, Bethesda Game Studios is hard at work on The Elder Scrolls 6. And Todd Howard hinted at remasters for Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but shortly after, an insider dashed fans' hopes for a quick release of those remasters.
