Major Destiny 2 Update Gets Renamed and Delayed to June 9

It was planned that the major update for Destiny 2 titled Shadow and Order would launch on March 3. However, in January, Bungie announced that the shooter Marathon would also release in early spring — with just a couple of days separating the two releases.

There won't be an overlap after all, as the studio has finally announced the delay of Shadow and Order.

The update has been pushed back by three months — to June 9. As Bungie explained, during this time the add-on will be significantly reworked, adding "sizable quality-of-life updates," and its name will also be changed.

More details about the changes, as well as previously announced features like weapon leveling, will be shared closer to the update's launch. Throughout June, the developers have promised to release small patches aimed at fixing bugs and improving the game's stability. Until then, portal modifiers will be updated, Guardian Games will take place in March, and the Iron Banner mode will return in April.

The latest expansion to date, "Renegades" in the spirit of "Star Wars", has performed rather mediocrely — on average, the number of active Destiny 2 players on Steam has noticeably dropped. And the announced delay clearly won't do the title any favors, the community believes.

Moreover, fans are now worried that they will have to wait even longer for the DLC.

"This delay falls right when the next 'real' DLC was supposed to come out. Jesus Christ, Bungie, 3 months of nothing? Even Paul Tassi didn't anticipate such a big delay. The game is over," — a concerned user.
