Sony Closes Bluepoint Games, Developers of the Demon's Souls Remake

Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially confirmed that the Bluepoint Games studio will be closed in March 2026. This is the studio that created the remake of Demon's Souls and was considered one of the valuable assets of PlayStation Studios.

According to an internal letter from Hermen Hulst, the decision was made after a "thorough business analysis" in the context of "rising development costs and slowing industry growth." However, behind the official wording lies a series of failures, for which many blame Sony's management. As a result, about 70 people will lose their jobs.

Sony has promised to try to place some of the talent in its other internal studios, but for many, this means the end of working in the team that created the most beautiful remake in Sony's history.
