CD Projekt RED Veteran Believes First-Person View in Cyberpunk 2077 Was the Right Decision
Igor Sarzyński, a veteran of CD Projekt RED, believes the decision to make Cyberpunk 2077 a first-person game was correct from the perspective of immersion. He drew a parallel with the third "The Witcher" game, noting Geralt's "ready-made" appearance, even with the ability to change hairstyles, armor, and so on. In "Cyberpunk," however, the player is free to choose their character's gender and appearance. Therefore, the story is largely built around subjective perception.
Sarzyński also emphasized that V has the ghost of a deceased person "living" in their head. And if the gamer saw the two characters from a third-person perspective, the effect would be different.
In conclusion, the CD Projekt RED employee noted that his words should not be projected onto the second part. Who knows — maybe the studio will follow the path of Capcom with the ninth installment of Resident Evil and offer players a choice of two perspectives.
And we, in turn, would like to remind you that not long ago, a composer and sound designer from World of Warcraft and Diablo joined the development team for Cyberpunk 2.
