Book Dedicated to Hideki Kamiya and His "Pleasant Sensations" to Release in April

Kadokawa has announced the release of a book dedicated to Hideki Kamiya in April 2026. The full title of the book can be roughly translated as "The World of Hideki Kamiya: All Works in Game Design for Creating 'Pleasant Sensations'."

The B5 format book will contain 176 full-color pages with hundreds of concept art pieces and over 100,000 characters of text. It will go on sale on April 2, 2026, priced at 3,520 yen (1,700 rubles). A digital version of the book will also be available on the same day. There is no information yet about translations into other languages.

In addition to an interview with Hideki Kamiya, the book will include commentary on concept art and development notes for games in which Kamiya was directly involved during his work at Capcom and PlatinumGames.

The Japanese press release states that this book will be dedicated to the following games:

• Resident Evil 2
• Devil May Cry
• Viewtiful Joe
• Okami
• The Bayonetta series (including Bayonetta Origins)
• The Wonderful 101
• Sol Cresta

After leaving PlatinumGames in October 2023, Hideki Kamiya waited a full year for an opportunity to return to game development, joining Clovers Inc. in October 2024. As of early 2026, he is working with Capcom on creating a brand-new sequel to Okami.
